On October 10, 2024, The Achievers Club of The New College organized an exciting event titled APTIQUEST' 24. This initiative, spearheaded by the PG & Research Department of Commerce, was designed exclusively for final-year undergraduate students. It aimed to assess and enhance their aptitude skills while providing them a platform to showcase their problem-solving abilities in a competitive environment.
Why APTIQUEST Matters:

The PG & Research Department of Commerce at The New College proudly organized an inspiring event, "Express Your Thoughts," on the eve of Independence Day 2024. This event, held on 15th August 2024, was conducted by the Achievers Club of The New College and featured a unique one-minute video presentation competition in both English and Tamil.
The theme for the competition was "My Favorite Freedom Fighters", allowing students to delve into the rich history of India's struggle for independence and articulate their thoughts and emotions on the subject. The participants displayed remarkable creativity and passion, making it a memorable event that celebrated the spirit of freedom and patriotism.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students across various years, with the following individuals emerging as the winners:

On July 29th, 2024, the PG & Research Department of Commerce at The New College marked World Conservation Day with an event that resonated with the pressing need for environmental stewardship. Organized by the Achievers Club, the event emphasized the importance of conserving our planet, Earth, and inspired the college community to take active steps towards a sustainable future.
The event began with a poignant display of placards across the campus. These placards featured thought-provoking quotes and Qur'anic verses that highlighted the significance of environmental conservation and the responsibility of every individual to protect the natural world. The messages were carefully chosen to resonate with the audience, encouraging them to reflect on their role in preserving the environment.
In a symbolic and impactful gesture, members of the Achievers Club also planted saplings within the college campus. On July 26, 2024, the PG & Research Department of Commerce at The New College, in collaboration with the Achievers Club, launched a significant initiative—The Hunger Relief Project. This project, inaugurated at the college canteen, marked a pivotal moment in the college’s ongoing efforts to engage in community welfare and uplift those in need.
The Achievers Club, known for its commitment to societal causes, successfully kick-started this hunger relief initiative under the guidance of the principal, Heads of Departments (HODs), and professors from the Department of Commerce. The event was more than just a gesture of kindness; it was a well-organized effort aimed at providing food assistance to individuals and families struggling with hunger.
The primary aim of this project is to address the pressing issue of hunger in the community surrounding The New College. By providing meals, the project seeks to alleviate the immediate needs of those facing food insecurity while also raising awareness about the broader issue of hunger in society.

ACHIEVERS CLUB WAS INAUGURATED FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-25 ON 23rd JULY 2024 IN THE PRESENCE OF HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT DR S SYED RAFIQ AHMED, DEPARTMENT FACULITES AND FORMER CLUB MEMBERS OF ACHIEVERS CLUB. THE OFFICE BEARERS WERE GIVEN THEIR BADGES AND THE FORMER CLUB MEMBERS WERE FELECITATED FOR THEIR CONTRUBUTION TOWARDS THE GROWTH OF THE CLUB.
PG & RESEARCH DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE RECOGNISED THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE STUDENTS IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AS WELL AS PROFESSIONAL COURSES IN THE PRESENCE OF FORMER HOD DR FAYAZ MOHAMMED BIJILI AND MEASI SECRETARY JANAB ELIAS SAIT.
STUDENTS WHO CLEARED IN PROFESSIONAL COURSES WERE GIVEN THE CASH PRIZE TO ENCOURAGE THEM. AROUND 45 STUDENTS RECEIVED CERTIFICATES FOR PARTICIPATING IN THIS INITIATIVE.
PG and Research Department of Commerce, The New College conducted Dr. T. Md. Dawood Khan Memorial Trophy on 7th March 2024 at TNC Sports Ground.
The competitions was between 4 teams namely I.B.COM.,II.B.COM.,III.B.COM. and PG.
III.B.COM. secured Ist place in the event.
PG and Research Department of Commerce, Shift 1 secured 3rd place in March Past at 72nd Annual Sports Day on 6th March 2024 at TNC Sports Ground.
The theme was " Voter Awareness" in view of upcoming General Parliamentary Election 2024.

PG and Research Department of Commerce, The New College conducted Mercium 2K24 "Inter Collegiate Talent Meet for an award of Dr. P.M.S. Abdul Gafoor Rolling Trophy on 4th March 2024 at HAAS Auditorium.
Around 120+ of participants of 20 colleges participated at various events. Guru Nanak College won the overall trophy and owned it after three year consecutive wins.
Students of 3rd B.Com. have won 1st Prize at AIM TO IGNITE 2K24 under the Content Market.

Commerce Bazaar 2024 - an entrepreneurial extravaganza was successfully conducted by the PG & Research Department of Commerce, The New College on 13th and 14th February at HAAS Auditorium.
We witnessed an overwhelming response from the visitors from the Feedback survey conducted by us. 2000+ Visitors explored 50+ stalls which generated a fair amount of revenue to the stallholders ( our college students).
This was an indeed a most awaited event as it was conducted after a long gap.

PG & RESEARCH DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, THE NEW COLLEGE WITH TAMILNADU HEALTH DEPARTMENT CONDUCTED AN AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON PREVENTION OF LEPROSY AT SMARTROOM ON 8TH FEBRUARY 2024. STUDENTS HAVE CLEARED THEIR DOUBTS ABOUT PREVENTION OF LEPROSY AND ITS TREATMENT.
Achievers Club of The New College conducted an online quiz competition on account of Republic Day on 26th January 2024 using an online platform.
Participants were issued e-certificate after the submission of their answers.
